Our Responsibility to the planet

As part of the Yonderland group, Ayacucho is aligned with its ambitious climate strategy. Yonderland follows the Paris Agreement and has set Science-Based Targets (SBTi) to reduce its Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, aiming to limit global warming 1.5°C compared to pre-industrial levels.

Our role in Scope 3

As one of Yonderland’s leading brands, Ayacucho plays a key role in reducing Scope 3 emissions linked to our value chain. Because we have greater control over design, materials and production than brands that are simply bought in, we can actively drive meaningful change.

We prioritise:

  •  The use of lower-impact materials, such as recycled and organic materials.
  •  Collaboration with long-term suppliers to drive continuous improvement in
      environmental performance.
  •  Assessing the (climate/environmental) impact during design. Working towards
integrating this into product decisions and tracking progress.

Yonderland's goal is to help ensure that 74.6% of suppliers (by emissions) set their own reduction targets in line with the Paris Agreement.

As one of Yonderland’s largest brands, Ayacucho is measuring its carbon emissions and will develop realistic yet ambitious targets in collaboration with our suppliers, working together step by step toward a lower-impact future.

Where We Produce

At Ayacucho, we stay committed to keeping part of our collection produced locally. While we are not expanding our local production, we remain dedicated to upholding high labour and environmental standards. We constantly explore and challenge ourselves to create new items closer to home whenever possible.

Much of our gear is still made in Asia, where many of our technical fabrics originate and where specialised expertise and efficient supply chains allow us to produce high-quality outdoor gear at accessible prices.

We are mindful of opportunities to produce closer to home, but above all we focus on ensuring that our products strike the right balance between labour and environmental standards, technical performance and accessibility, wherever they are made.
