At Ayacucho, we believe that the well-being of people is essential, not only to our success, but to doing business the right way. Whether it’s our own team, our suppliers, or the communities we support, people are at the heart of everything we do.

Factory workers

We are committed to upholding high ethical standards in our supply chain. Our Code of Conduct and Workplace Instructions ensure that factory staff are treated fairly and respectfully. This includes:

No discrimination — Freely chosen employment — Legally binding contracts — Safe and healthy working conditions — No child labour — Reasonable working hours — Freedom of association — Respectful treatment

We work closely with our partners to ensure these principles are upheld, and we continue to improve where needed.

Ethical Sourcing

Ayacucho almost works exclusively with factories approved by Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI). This ensures that our production partners meet recognised social standards including fair labour practices, safe working conditions, and respect for workers’ rights.

BSCI also supports continuous improvement by offering training and guidance to factory staff. This commitment is central to our supply chain integrity and our ongoing effort to produce responsibly — with care for the people behind our products.
As an Amfori member, we actively monitor and improve working conditions throughout our supply chain to ensure it remains ethical, transparent, and socially responsible.

Community support

1% for the Planet — and for People

Since our founding in 2009, Ayacucho has donated 1% of its revenue to support vulnerable communities around the world. In partnership with Solid International, we help fund social enterprises and development projects in Peru, Kenya, and India focusing on education, job training, and sustainable community support.

In 2025 we also joined the global 1% for the Planet network, reinforcing our long-standing commitment to giving back.

Impact through Solid International

Thanks to the continued support of our customers, we’ve helped realise meaningful change:

PERU

• Teenage parents: 1,535 young mothers received guidance; 55% returned to school

• Knitting workshop: 250 women employed; 80% now have savings

• Rural development: 2,032 families improved their homes with eco-solutions

INDIA

• Craft workshop: 40 women per year trained in traditional skills; 9 advanced to leadership roles

KENIA

• Hadithi Crafts: 1,900 women supported through artisan cooperatives; 2,380 received health training
